Basic Prompt Syntax

Use clear, structured natural language prompts to tell the AI what to trade, when to act, and how to manage risk.

Basic Prompt Syntax for Trading

To interact effectively with the AI Trading Agent, traders should express their intent in a simple and consistent prompt format. While the AI understands natural language, using a clear structure helps it interpret your strategy accurately and respond with precise actions.

A good trading prompt usually includes:

  • Action – what you want to do (buy, sell, wait, close, manage risk)
  • Asset – the symbol or market (e.g., EUR/USD, Gold, BTC)
  • Condition – when or why the action should happen
  • Risk or control – optional limits such as risk level, position size, or stop conditions

For example, instead of vague instructions, describe your intent clearly and directly. This allows the AI to align its analysis, reasoning, and execution with your trading goals.

Using this prompt style ensures:

  • Faster and more accurate AI responses
  • Fewer misunderstandings in execution
  • Better alignment between your market view and the AI’s actions

Think of prompt trading as talking to your trading system the same way you think about the market — clearly, intentionally, and with context.
